FitCamp
About the project
As a contractor I have worked with a project manager and designer to create a web for local gym. They had a web before, but with an old approach (1 page for desktop and 1 for mobile), no CMS and its design wasn’t unified. So our job was to create a nicely looking, responsive website with easily manageable content. There were sections for presenting the gym, trainers, available subscriptions blog and areas where users could log-in manage his/her credit, subscriptions and reservations. The project was done in 2 stages and we have supported it for 2 years after going live.
My responsibilities
We have used WordPress as a CMS. So my responsibility was to build a custom WP theme which followed requested functionality and provided design. The old web was using a 3rd party system for reservations. The decision was to re-use it so I had to integrate it to the theme along with a payment gateway.
The biggest challenge
The biggest problem was causing Calendar with reservations. As they have multiple trainers, trainings were often colliding in many different ways. So we had to come up with an algorithm to present such cases nicely.
